To combat poor consumer sentiment following the U.S. government’s auto bailout, Headway connected 1,300 automotive dealerships with youth baseball leagues in 90 markets. Since the program debuted in 2006, Chevy donated more than $20 million to leagues impacting 2.8 million kids. Oh, and they’re selling more cars.
Modeled after the wildly successful youth baseball program, Chevy Youth Soccer linked more than 650 automotive dealerships with youth soccer leagues in 50 markets offering equipment and fundraising resources and facilitating free instructional clinics led by professional soccer organizations.
Chevy Youth Hockey continues to grow after starting with just a one-market program in 2011. Today, nearly 70 Chevrolet dealers participate in the Headway-facilitated program, which includes equipment donations, sweepstakes opportunities and free instructional clinics.

In 2010, GM Corporate hired Headway to raise $1 million for the “Cell Phones for Soldiers” program, which helps U.S. troops call home via pre-paid phone calling cards. Dealerships served as cell phone donation sites and partnered with local radio stations to offer exclusive concerts to schools collecting the most phones. In 2011, 73 dealerships and 123 schools collected nearly 6,000 phones.
